We’re really proud to have teamed up with several local businesses to donate money to purchase much-needed equipment for young boxers training at Titans Boxing in Sheffield.

Titans Boxing is owned and run by former professional boxer, John ‘Fireball’ Fewkes. A community gym located in Gleadless, it focuses on nurturing talented local youngsters, inspiring commitment to the sport of boxing and encouraging people from all walks of life to get off the sofa, get fit and feel healthier.

Jones & Co were joined by Highlander, B&B Vehicles, Taylor & Emmet LLP, Arigi Bianci and A Cumberlidge as well as cricket legend, Michael Vaughan and footballer, Kieran Wallace in making donations that were used to buy new kit such as boxing gloves, headguards and bags.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity,” commented John. “We had a special presentation where I introduced a few of the business directors to the kids and presented them with their kit – they couldn’t believe it when I gave them their new gear, it made their year.”

Adds Matt Sanderson, personal trainer and keen supporter of Titans Boxing: “Some of the kids that John works with have very little money of their own and they have to get two different buses to get to the gym but they turn up week in, week out. Their dedication to achieving their goals is truly inspirational.

“John is so good with the kids and everyone he coaches. He is the perfect role model. Spend 10 minutes in the gym and you’ll see how he works: he helps the youngsters to build their confidence, teaches them good manners and discipline, how to behave and socialise with others, all through the sport of boxing.”

Concludes Mark Jones, director at Jones & Co: “When Matt contacted us to explain what John has been achieving down at Titans, we immediately wanted to get involved. With youth crime and obesity on the rise across the UK, we all have a duty to steer youngsters in the right direction and help them make the best choices for their future – what better way to do that than through boxing training with John at Titans!”
