Providing protection advice
Warren Parkin joined the Jones & Co team back in May after spending nine years in the motor industry. Warren, a member of the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF), gained his financial qualifications a couple of years ago and decided he wanted to pursue a whole new career in the finance industry.
“As soon as I began my interview with Mark, I knew Jones & Co would be a great fit for me and a great company with which to realise my ambitions,” explains Warren.
“I hit the ground running and have been closely involved in all aspects of admin from the very start. I’m developing new skillsets every day and have already been on a couple of different training courses with a view to honing my skills and experience as a protection advisor.”
Continues Warren: “Protection advice is a key part of the business and it’s my job to help clients select and implement the very best protection products for their needs and requirements. This could be a variety of different policies including life cover, income protection or critical illness cover.”
Adds Mark Jones, director: “Warren is a dedicated individual, who has been a big asset to the company from day one. He is always motivated and conscientious of his work. He’s an inspiration to others thinking about starting or switching to a career in financial services, as he made this decision entirely on his own and self-funded his qualifications.
“Warren is actually qualified to QCF Level 4 as an investment advisor and is currently undertaking a training programme so that, ultimately, he will become an independent financial advisor with the firm.”
Concludes Warren: “I’m one of those lucky people who enjoys coming to work on a Monday morning! Every day is different and I’m really looking forward to further improving my knowledge and experience and helping clients to achieve their objectives.”
